How would you describe your work?

I like to reflect on how I develop my own style. I would say that often what an artist craves a most is to find their own style and it is something that is built over time. I started reproducing images of female portraits by pencil, I remember late nights looking for that perfect realism in the features.

Between portraits I discovered that I became more comfortable creating my own images, imagining worlds and allowing me to explore.

There emerged the style that represents me today.

With my work I try to connect reality with an imaginary world, I like that intermediate point between the two. It allows me to create without limits. That's why I feel free in surrealism.

What inspires you?

I am inspired by a conversation, a walk, a dinner, a movie, photography, music, at any moment something can arise that seems interesting enough to capture in my work.

Can you speak about your process?

Curiously, creative ideas usually come to me when I'm least looking for them.

Whenever I have a thought I write it down on a notepad, sometimes sketches, sometimes just phrases or words and then give it shape.

Once I have a clear idea, I make a pencil sketch where I usually mark the shadows and then place it on the canvas.

I attach great importance to color, I am not always clear about the color palette, sometimes it changes during the process until the desired result is achieved.

How did you become interested in art?

I have always felt attracted to aesthetics, since I was a child I really enjoyed drawing and creating, I really liked manual activities, DIY, everything related to creation.

It was during the pandemic when I returned to my paintings until now, which have become part of my life.

Do you have any favorite artists, movies, books, or quotes?

Absolutely, every day I discover new artists that I like who inspire me a lot.

If we talk about classical artists I would say Egon Schiele, René Magritte or Lucian Freud.

My latest discovery are Peggy Kuiper, Camilla Engström and Martyn Cross.
